Summary:
On October 2, 2018, one (1) proposal was received for the operation of a coffee shop at the Indian Creek Library. The contract will be utilized to allow Park Street Pastry, LLC to be the coffee shop concessionaire for the new Indian Creek Library (ICL).
An evaluation team of ICL staff evaluated the proposal based on experience, reputation, overall RFP response, and proposed concession fee to the ICL. Park Street Pastry was deemed experienced to fit the needs of concessionaire for the coffee shop at the ICL.
Park Street Pastry, LLC. will communicate and plan with ICL’s Event Coordinator and Programming Managers to promote programs and events such as barista competitions, baking classes, chocolate demonstrations, etc. This will allow the owner to plan accordingly with all internal programs and event space reservations and to adequately promote ICL and generate more traffic and revenue for ICL.
Staff recommends award of a three (3) year contract to Park Street Pastry, LLC. with the option to extend for two (1) additional one-year contract periods.
Three (3) Olathe vendors were solicited but only one (1) responded as is recommended for award.

Financial Impact:
A 5% concession fee of gross monthly sales will be paid monthly by Park Street Pastry, LLC to the City to be used towards general operating expenses of the Indian Creek Library.
