Summary:

During the construction of a right turn lane on Santa Fe into Lake Olathe, the contractor discovered an ATMOS gas line about 12” below the future finish grade of the turn lane.  In order to allow construction of the turn lane to continue, it was determined that the ATMOS gas line needed to be relocated.  This agreement is in place to relocate the necessary portions of the ATMOS gas line to allow for the construction of the turn lane improvements.

The estimated cost of this relocation is $76,037.52, which includes all materials, construction, labor, survey, inspection, and overhead necessary to complete the relocation.  The City will reimburse ATMOS the actual cost of the relocation upon completion of the work.

The relocation of this line is tentatively scheduled to begin in January 2019 with completion by February 2019.  Construction of the turn lane is tentatively scheduled to be complete in April 2019.

Funding for the relocation will come from the 2018 Street Preservation Program authorized to include improvements to Ward Cliff Drive with the lake Olathe Project.
