Summary:
On January 23, 2019, four (4) bids were received and opened for the above referenced project. The bids ranged from $747,813.85 to $834,848.20 with the Engineer’s Estimate at $914,326.50. O’Donnell & Sons Construction Co., Inc. submitted the low and responsible bid in the amount of $747,813.35. The following is a tabulation of the bids received:

This Street Preservation project, from Pflumm Road to Quivira Road, will include a two-inch asphalt mill and overlay, asphalt base repair, concrete curb and gutter replacement, sidewalk and ADA ramp replacement, pavement markings, pedestrian signal installation, and traffic detection maintenance. The City of Olathe and the City of Overland Park will share the costs of design and construction. The City of Olathe will administer the project.
Construction is scheduled to begin in late Spring 2019 and will be completed in Summer 2019.

Financial Impact:
This project is funded from the City of Olathe’s 2019 Street Preservation Program authorized on January 22, 2019. The City of Overland Park’s share will be 18.5% of the total cost, estimated to be $176,535.14. Authorized revenue for the 2019 Street Preservation Program includes:
Street Maintenance Sales Tax $12,750,000
CIP Fund $ 2,800,000
General Obligation Bonds $ 1,000,000
Total $16,550,000
