Consideration of an Inter-local Agreement with the City of Overland Park for construction of the 151st Street Arterial Mill and Overlay Project, PN 3-P-004-19..

Summary:
This mill and overlay project, from Pflumm Road to Quivira Road, was authorized as part of the 2019 Street Preservation Program. The City of Olathe will administer the project, including design and construction of both the Olathe and Overland Park areas within the project limits. Arterial mill and overlay projects are best completed as one combined project for both cities, when the project includes city boundaries within its limits. This agreement will allow the City of Olathe and the City of Overland Park to proportionally share the costs for design and construction.
Construction is scheduled to begin in late Spring 2019 and will be completed in Summer 2019.

Financial Impact:
The estimated total cost of design and construction of the project is $954,244.00. The City of Overland Park’s share is estimated to be $176,535.14 (18.5% of the total cost). The City of Olathe’s share is estimated to be $777,708.86 (81.5% of the total cost).
