Summary:
This agreement is in place to relocate and rebuild overhead electric transmission lines. This relocation is necessary to move an existing Westar Energy, Inc. (Westar) electric power line to a location that will allow for the construction of the Mahaffie Circle Improvements Project.
Westar has provided an estimated relocation cost of $660,000 for the project. The estimated cost includes all associated expenses necessary to complete the relocation. The relocation is expected to begin in Fall 2019 and be completed by the end of 2019.
Construction of the I-35 bridge work associated with the Mahaffie Circle Improvements Project is scheduled to begin in Spring 2019 with completion in Fall 2020. The extension of Mahaffie Circle is scheduled to begin construction in Spring 2020 with completion by end of 2020.

GO Bonds $ 6,000,000
KDOT $ 7,000,000
Other Funds (Development Agreement w/Garmin) $ 1,800,000
Total $14,800,000
