Summary:
This project will extend Mahaffie Circle from its existing terminus north of 151st Street to the intersection of Old 56 Highway and Church Street. Improvements will include extending the bridge over the railroad on I-35, pavement, curb and gutter, storm sewer, street lights, and sidewalks.
The original agreement with HNTB Corporation for this project was approved by City Council on December 5, 2017. This Supplemental Agreement is necessary to provide additional design services for project. These additional design services were not included at the time of the initial scope of work and are as follows:
• Construction engineering services
• Church Street southbound right turn lane at Old 56 Hwy
• BNSF bridge over Old 56 Hwy painting
• Olathe waterline design
The total fee for the aforementioned additional professional engineering services provided pursuant to this Supplemental Agreement No. 1 is $324,775, which raises the maximum total fee for all services provided under the Agreement from $1,144,455 to $1,469,230.
Construction of the I-35 bridge work associated with the Mahaffie Circle Improvements Project is scheduled to begin in Spring 2019 with completion in Fall 2020. The extension of Mahaffie Circle is scheduled to begin construction in Spring 2020 with completion by end of 2020.

GO Bonds $ 6,000,000
KDOT $ 7,000,000
Other Funds (Development Agreement w/Garmin) $ 1,800,000
Total $14,800,000
