Subject: Consideration of Resolution No. 19-1024 declaring it to be the policy of the City of Olathe, Kansas, to promote diversity and equality in our community.

Summary:

Attached is a resolution (Attachment A) declaring it to be the policy of the City of Olathe, Kansas to promote diversity and equality in our community.

 

The resolution declares it to be the policy of the City to reject discrimination of any kind and to respect the inherent worth of every person, without regard to age, race, religion, color, sex, disability, national origin, ancestry, sexual orientation or gender identity or expression.

                     

The resolution encourages all Olathe residents to utilize the Community Mediation Program as a forum to resolve disputes and disagreements, including those which involve housing, employment, and/or public accommodations.

 

The resolution also encourages the Kansas State Legislature to debate comprehensive anti-discrimination legislation.
