Consideration of renewal of contract with Ceres Environmental for emergency debris removal and reduction services
Body
________________________________________________________________________________
Summary:
On April 10, 2014 four (4) proposals were received for Disaster Debris Management Services. Award of contract was made to Ceres Environmental on July 1, 2014.
This contract is needed to expedite the clean-up and recovery process in Olathe in the event of a debris generating disaster that overwhelms the ability of the City of Olathe Public Works Department to effectively respond. Having this contract in place will allow the City to move through the response phase and into the recovery phase in a timely manner. These contracts do not limit the City’s options in a disaster. The advantage is the pre-determination of pricing and allows a quicker response post debris producing disaster.
Staff recommends renewal of contract till June 30, 2020.
One (1) Olathe vendor was notified but did not submit a response because they did not provide the services being requested.

Financial Impact:
The total cost will remain undetermined until a debris generating event occurs.
