Summary:
On June 5, 2015, three (3) bids were received for Security Camera equipment and services by MidAmerica Regional Council - Kansas City Regional Purchasing Cooperative. Award of contracts were made to C&C Group and Electronic Technology Inc.
Resolution 15-1050 approved by Council 06-17-15 states, “The City of Olathe recognizes the value of utilizing technology as a public safety tool and specifically using video cameras as a means to enhance safety and security and improve traffic flow throughout the community.”
Major anticipated projects over the next twelve (12) months include:
• Police Department to maintain or replace existing security systems approximately $50,000.
• Install security systems for Fire House 8 approximately $22,000
• Install security systems for Fire Training Center approximately $50,000
• Install security systems for the new Parks Maintenance building approximately $45,000
• Install security systems for the Cemetery approximately $100,000
• Install security systems for the new Indian Creek Library approximately $75,000
Staff recommends renewal of contracts with C&C Group and Electronic Technology Inc for a one (1) year contract through June 30, 2020 for purchases of safety and security camera equipment and services.
There are no Olathe vendors that provide this equipment.

Financial Impact:
Expected annual expenditures of $350,000. Expenditures will be charged to various city-wide projects.
