Summary:
On June 18, 2014, eight (8) proposals were received for Permitting Software to be used by the Fire Department, Public Works, and Information Technology.
This permitting software is current state of the art technology, utilizing a web-based application that automates the regulatory processes to generate/submit, route, calculate fees, approve and schedule/track inspections including permitting workflow with the general public/contractors. This software solution allows the City to streamline manual processes and move towards a paperless plan submittal and review. This will ensure electronic collaborative reviews and approval process to handle complex permits that cross multiple City Departments. This also allows field inspectors to perform electronic field inspections utilizing mobile devices with the ability to save data in a disconnected mode that minimizes rework/revisits to customer locations.
The City recommends renewal of contract with Tyler Technologies.
There are no Olathe vendors that provide permitting software.

Financial Impact:
Annual expenditures will be $71,972. Funding will come from the Fire Department, Public Works, and Information Technology department budgets.
