Summary:
Summit Truck Group (STG) submitted a quote through the Metro Bid Contract# 2016-002 for one (1) cab & chassis for a 2019 IHC Service Truck.
American Equipment submitted a quote through Kansas City, Missouri Contract# EV2260 for the purchase and installation of one (1) vehicle body on to the 2019 IHC cab & chassis from STG.
This unit will replace a truck totaled in an accident and allow the City’s Utility Maintenance Section of Public Works to continue work at its current service level. This Service Truck is a very important piece of their fleet and a critical tool in the on-going maintenance, construction and repair of the city’s water distribution and wastewater collection infrastructure.
Staff recommends award to Summit Truck Group for the replacement of a cab & chassis and to American Equipment for the replacement of a vehicle body to be installed on the replacement vehicle for Public Works Utility Maintenance.
The City received $54,000 in insurance money that was deposited back into the Vehicle and Equipment Replacement Fund (VERF). In addition, the vehicle has paid $72,882 in lease fees into the VERF. VERF fund balance will cover the remaining cost.

Financial Impact:
$154,784 for the purchase of a cab & chassis ($92,430) and vehicle body ($62,354). Funding will come from the Vehicle and Equipment Replacement Fund
