Summary:
In 2016, the City of Olathe acted as lead agency for a cooperative fuel bid. We received six (6) bids and awarded the contract to CarterEnergy Corporation for the City’s estimated annual requirements of E-10 unleaded gasoline and diesel fuel. Participating entities in the cooperative bid included the City of Leawood, Johnson County, Olathe School District, and Water One. The fuel is used to operate the City’s fleet, emergency generators, and lift stations.
Staff recommends renewal of a two-year contract with CarterEnergy Corporation until September 30, 2021.
One (1) Olathe vendor was notified, however, they were not the lowest, responsive bidder and did not meet the City of Olathe’s criteria for Local Preference.
