Summary:
This project will extend Mahaffie Circle from its existing terminus north of 151st Street to the intersection of Old 56 Highway and Church Street. Improvements include extending the bridge over the railroad on I-35, pavement, curb and gutter, storm sewer, streetlights, and sidewalks.
The Kansas Department of Transportation (KDOT) bid the I-35 bridge work associated with the Mahaffie Circle Improvements Project earlier this year, and awarded the project to Pyramid Contractors, Inc. (Pyramid). Pyramid proposed changes to the design and plan details for the bridge improvements that would reduce the closure of the lanes of traffic on I-35 from two construction seasons to one construction season (2019), and is scheduled to finish the work on I-35 by the end of the year.
This presentation will provide an update of the project and discuss the upcoming work on the extension of Mahaffie Circle.

GO Bonds $ 6,000,000
KDOT $ 7,000,000
Other Funds (Development Agreement w/Garmin) $ 1,800,000
Total $14,800,000
