Summary: In 2017 the City of Overland Park, Kansas acted as lead agency on a cooperative bid for rock salt and awarded it to Independent Salt. On August 8, 2019 the agreement with Independent Salt was renewed by Overland Park with a $0.56/ton price increase
Rock salt products are used by the Street Maintenance Section of Public Works for winter snow and ice control on the City’s streets.
Staff recommends renewal of contract with Independent Salt from October 1, 2019 to September 30, 2020.
No Olathe vendors supply rock salt.
