Summary:
The City of Olathe has a long-standing relationship with Reeves-Wiedeman Company for plumbing supplies (valves, pipe/fittings, fixtures, specialty hardware, etc). Reeves-Wiedeman Company has an Olathe location that is heavily utilized due to the comprehensive stocking strategy by the company which provides many of the City’s critically needed parts in-stock. Another major benefit is that Reeves-Wiedeman Company offers the City a fifty-percent (50%) discount off list price, which makes them the best value alternative to other regional suppliers.
Staff recommends renewal of contract to Reeves-Wiedeman for plumbing supplies for a contract term through December 31, 2022.

Financial Impact:
Expenditures for plumbing supplies are charged to individual department budgets. Annual city-wide expenditures for plumbing supplies total approximately $60,000 per year.
