Summary:
The Police Department utilizes Watchguard In-Car Video and Body Camera Systems to provide best evidence and to enhance accountability and safety for officers and citizens. The Police Department utilizes the Watchguard In-Car Video System, which have been in place in the Police Department fleet for approximately 3 ½ years. Enhancements to the Watchguard system have allowed us to integrate body cameras with the current in-car video system. These body cameras have been tested and evaluated against other models and have proved to be the most effective and efficient system that will best meet the need of the Police Department and enhance the safety of the police officers and the citizens of the City of Olathe.
Staff recommends the award to Watchguard Video Systems for a two-year agreement.
There are no Olathe Vendors that can provide the Watchguard Video Systems for the Police Department.

Financial Impact:
Total financial impact will be approximately $120,000 per year and will be funded through the Vehicle Equipment Replacement Fund (VERF) and Police Department Budget.
