Summary:
The City currently has a project that will extend Mahaffie Circle from its existing terminus north of 151st Street to the intersection of Old 56 Highway and Church Street. Mahaffie Circle becomes Mahaffie Street south of 151st Street. To keep a consistent name along the entire roadway, staff is proposing to change the name of Mahaffie Circle to Mahaffie Street. Additionally, there is a small section of roadway between Old 56 Highway and Dennis Avenue that is currently named Church Street. The new roadway will intersect Old 56 Highway at this location. This ordinance will also change this one block of Church Street to Mahaffie Street.
Currently Lots 2, 3B, 3C, 4, 5 and 6 of Gateway Business Park, First Plat and Lots 3, 6 and 6A of Cedar Pointe are addressed from Mahaffie Circle (see Attachment A). No properties are addressed from this block of Church Street.
The ordinance authorizes a change in the name of S Mahaffie Circle and S Church Street to S Mahaffie Street.
