Summary:
This project is needed to address safety and capacity concerns in the area, especially in the AM peak hour when it is difficult for residents to make left turns out of their subdivisions. This project will improve Ridgeview Road from a 2-lane section to a 3-lane section with a center left-turn lane and two roundabouts. Improvements will include pavement widening, mill and overlay, bike lanes, curb and gutter, side paths, storm sewer and waterline.
The original Professional Services Agreement with TranSystems Corporation was approved by the City Council on January 22, 2019 and included a capacity and access evaluation to determine the exact needs for the corridor. It also provided for surveying of the project corridor and the development of a conceptual design for the proposed roadway improvements. Supplemental Agreement No. 1 funded preliminary design work until a decision was made on the final improvements.
This Supplemental Agreement No. 2 will allow TranSystems to complete the design of the roadway improvements in addition to bidding and construction services. The total fee for the additional professional services provided with Supplemental Agreement No. 2 is $997,152, which raises the total fees for all services provided under the Agreement from $211,075 to $1,208,227.
The project is currently in the design phase with land acquisition and utility relocations scheduled to begin in Spring 2020. Construction is tentatively scheduled for 2021.
