Summary:
The Mahaffie Circle Improvements Project will extend Mahaffie Circle from its existing terminus north of 151st Street to the intersection of Old 56 Highway and Church Street. Improvements include extending the bridge over the railroad on I-35, pavement, curb and gutter, storm sewer, streetlights, and sidewalks. A new 12” waterline is also being installed along the new roadway to enhance water pressure issues on the east side of I-35.
This agreement is in place to relocate and rebuild telecommunications facilities for CenturyLink Communications, LLC (CenturyLink). This relocation is necessary to move existing CenturyLink facilities to a location that will allow for the construction of the Mahaffie Circle Improvements Project.
CenturyLink has provided an estimated relocation cost of $71,566.88 for the project. The estimated cost includes all associated expenses necessary to complete the relocation. The relocation is expected to begin in Fall 2019 and be completed by the end of 2019.
Construction of the extension of Mahaffie Circle is scheduled to be completed by late summer 2020.
