Summary:
The Fire Department established a task force of Fire Department personnel in 2016 to review the various manufacturers of fire apparatus. The result of the task force was a decision to establish Pierce Manufacturing, Inc. as the City’s standard/ Pierce fire apparatus is available through the Houston-Galveston Area Cooperative (HGAC), a national, competitive, bidding cooperative and is handled locally by Conrad Fire Equipment, Inc.
The original cost of the pumper is $699,711.23. A pre-payment incentive of $22,892.04 will be applied resulting in the total cost of $676,819.19.
Additional accessory equipment for the apparatus will be purchased from various vendors at an estimated additional cost of $140,000.
The fire apparatus will be paid for using General Obligation Bond proceeds from project 6-C-009-18.
Staff recommends award of contract to Conrad Fire Equipment, Inc.,an Olathe vendor.

Financial Impact:
Estimated expenditures will be $816,819.19 ($676,819.19 for the apparatus plus $140,000 for equipment) which will be charged to project 6-C-009-18.
