Summary:  In 2016, one (1) bid was received for high density polyethylene (HDPE) pipe and rental of fusion equipment. As part of the City’s efforts to maintain water and sewer infrastructure, City construction crews currently replace over 7,000 feet of water and sewer mains.  The HDPE pipe is used to replace deteriorated water and sewer pipes that have reached the end of their useful life and are prone to failures.  This is done specifically where trenchless excavation can be used to minimize excavation and restoration costs and reduce the impact on the neighborhood. This contract will provide the HDPE pipe and the rental of equipment for fusing (joining) of pipe segments.

The City spent approximately $189,700 to CES Industrial Supply LLC in 2019.  Staff estimates spending $125,000 each year for a total of $250,000 over the two-year renewal period.

CES Industrial Piping was awarded a three (3) year contract with the option of two (2) additional contract years.  Staff recommends renewal of contract for two (2) years to CES Industrial Piping Supply LLC
