Summary:
This is a request to vacate an existing, 15-foot-wide waterline easement at Ernie Miller Park and Nature Center. An existing fire hydrant is located at this location and will be relocated to accommodate future construction of a new parking area at the park.
The site is located within the City of Olathe water and sewer service areas, and the vacation has no effect on public or private utilities for the surrounding properties. The Public Works Department has reviewed the vacation request and recommends approval as proposed.
A public hearing was held on April 27, 2020 before the Planning Commission. No individuals from the public spoke during the hearing and following the presentation by staff, the Planning Commission recommended approval of the request by a vote of 8-0.
