Summary:
The rental equipment currently purchased through Foley Industries is used to provide additional support to the Stormwater Division to maximize production and response-time to projects and emergency jobs. The Stormwater Division rents special equipment for short-term projects such as deep-excavation pipe repair and replacement, and brush removal. Larger equipment, which the City currently does not own, is often needed to support emergency jobs such as repairing sinkholes in roadways, streambank stabilization, or obstruction removal.
Foley Industries has agreed to provide the Stormwater Division with the best pricing and offered at least a twenty percent (20%) discount off standard rates. Foley Industries has proven to be reliable and fully equipped for the City’s needs and able to handle the short-term rentals as well. Availability, close proximity, wide selection of equipment as well as site-to-site delivery has saved the Stormwater Division considerable loss of production time.
Staff recommends award of contract to Foley Industries for two (2) years through December 31, 2022, with an annual review.
Foley Industries is an Olathe vendor.
