Summary:
On November 03, 2020, six (6) bids were received and opened for the above referenced project. The bids ranged from $1,699,584.90 to $2,189,496.95 with the Engineer’s Estimate at $1,852,804.73. Pyramid Construction, Inc. submitted the low and responsible bid in the amount of $1,699,584.90. The following is a tabulation of the bids received:

The first phase, a 1.86-mile-long segment will connect Lake Olathe Park to a location south of Old Highway 56. A future second phase will connect the first phase with a destination at Cedar Lake.
The Cedar Creek Trail will ultimately tie into the existing trail system of Lake Olathe, the trail system of Cedar Lake and the Johnson County (JCPRD) trail system in Cedar Niles Park, north of Lake Olathe.
Construction is scheduled to begin in Winter/Spring 2021 with completion in Fall 2021.

Financial Impact:
Funding for the Cedar Creek Trail Project, Phase I, includes:
KDOT $ 500,000.00
Park Sales Tax $1,199,584.90
Total $1,699,584.90
