Summary:
This project includes the conversion of city-owned streetlights from high pressure sodium to LED fixtures. Conversion to the LED fixtures will result in potential energy savings to the City due to lower electricity costs. Simple payback on the investment is expected in 6 to 8 years. Since this program started in 2015, over 6,000 city-owned streetlights have been converted from high pressure sodium to LED fixtures.
This Resolution will authorize $270,000 to be spent on conversion of streetlights from high pressure sodium to LED fixtures in 2021.
