Summary:
On March 2, 2021, four (4) bids were received and opened for the above referenced project. The bids ranged from $1,943,262.88 to $2,182,292.85 with the Engineer’s Estimate at $2,012,514.20. McAnany Construction, Inc. submitted the low and responsible bid in the amount of $1,943,262.88. The following is a tabulation of the bids received:

This Street Preservation project will provide a 2” depth asphalt mill and overlay on 159th Street from US-169 Highway to Black Bob Road. This project will also include asphalt base repairs (as needed), concrete curb and sidewalk spot replacement, installation of ADA compliant sidewalk ramps, installation of 8’ concrete shared use path (from the Chisholm Trail Middle School exit to Brougham Drive), placement of pavement markings, and traffic signal detection improvements.
Construction is tentatively scheduled to begin in Summer 2021 and tentatively scheduled to be completed in Fall 2021.

Financial Impact:
This project is funded from the City of Olathe’s 2021 Street Preservation Program authorized on January 5, 2021. Authorized revenue for the 2021 Street Preservation Program includes:
G.O. Bonds $ 4,200,000
Street Maintenance Sales Tax $ 11,000,000
Total $ 15,200,000
