Summary:
The City of Olathe uses the Trojan Ultraviolet (UV) Disinfection Systems as part of the wastewater treatment process at the Harold Street and Cedar Creek Wastewater Treatment Plants. To maintain the manufacturer’s performance guarantee for the equipment, original equipment manufacturer (OEM) parts are required to be used when performing repairs or routine maintenance on the systems.
The lamps have a useful lifespan of 12,000 run hours. All lamps are reaching the end of their useful life and need to be replaced. Failure to replace lamps could reduce capacity for treatment and/or risk permit violations.
Ray Lindsey Company is the local manufacturer’s representative for Trojan Technologies, Inc.
Staff anticipates spending a total of $53,232.00 for Cedar Creek lamp replacements in 2021.
