Summary:
On March 15, 2021, five (5) bids were received and opened for the above referenced project. The bids ranged from $1,522,327.00 to $1,812,752.00 with the Engineer’s Estimate at $1,502,616.00. Kansas Heavy Construction, LLC submitted the low and responsible bid in the amount of $1,522,327.00. The following is a tabulation of the bids received:

This project includes replacement of existing corrugated metal pipe (CMP) culverts with larger concrete culverts, reconstruction of street pavement, channel improvements, storm sewer improvements, and the reduction of the flood risk for two (2) businesses identified within the 100-year floodplain through project improvements.
This is the second of six identified neighborhood flood control projects located outside the FEMA regulated floodplain.
Construction is tentatively scheduled to begin in Spring 2021 with completion in Fall 2021.

Funding for the Upper Cedar Creek Stormwater Improvements Project includes:
Johnson County SMAC Program $1,350,570
Olathe Stormwater Funds $1,184,430
Total $2,535,000
