Summary:
The Modernization of Fire Stations project is approved in the 2021-2025 Capital Improvement Plan (CIP) with a total project budget of $1,015,000. This project will make improvements throughout various Fire Stations necessary for the Health and Safety of Staff.
Attached is Resolution 21-1027 which funds the $1,015,000 in general obligation bond funding for the project.
The Modernization Project will address necessary improvements throughout Fire Stations. The project will include the separation of sleeping areas to provide privacy for Staff, standardizing a more reliable comprehensive in-station alerting system for calls for service, repairing and restoring the vehicle exhaust direct capture system that is the industry gold standard to manage the health hazard of exhaust exposure for firefighters, and installation of basic security features at each facility.
The Project will begin in 2021 and completed in 2022.

Financial Impact:
The Modernization of Fire Stations project will be funded with $1,015,000 in general obligation bonds as approved in the 2021-2025 Capital Improvement Plan.
