Summary:
On April 16th, 2021 two (2) bids were received for the restoration of the Olathe Cemetery Chapel. Pishny Restoration Services was the lowest bid.
Grant monies were awarded to make repairs to the Olathe Cemetery Chapel. Because this fell under the Kansas Historical Society Preservation Program, only companies specializing in historic restoration were permitted to bid and perform the work being requested.
• Exterior stone and brick masonry restoration cleaning.
• Replacement of three (3) steel lintels that are deteriorated over the exterior doors.
• 100% repointing of exterior stone and brick masonry with Type L mortar formulation to match original.
• Roof and roof flashing replacement.
• Guttering and downspout replacement.
• Exterior grading to provide positive flow from building.
• Duplication and replacement of deteriorated exterior wood trim.
• Removal of existing board up and A/C in window opening and installation of new window.
• Repainting of exterior trim and doors.

Thirty-four companies were notified. There were not any Olathe vendors that could provide this service.
Staff recommends award of contract to Pishny Restoration Services.

Financial Impact:
The project total with 20% contingency is $131,088.
Up to $90,000 is reimbursable from the Kansas State Historical Society Heritage Trust Fund Grant funds with a minimum 20% match coming from the City of Olathe Cemetery Endowment Fund.
