Summary:
This final plat application is to establish one (1) lot and two (2) tracts of land and dedicate public easements within this portion of the Olathe Downtown Library located at 250 E. Santa Fe. The applicant is replatting Lots 1-3 and 10-30 and vacating alleys within Lot 34 and right-of-way for N. Water Street to allow for the construction of a 46,000 square foot civic library and office facility.
Utility easements are being dedicated with this plat. Public alleys and right-of-way for N. Water Street are being vacated with the plat as required per UDO.18.40.190.
A corresponding application for rezoning to the Downtown District (RZ21-0007) with associated revised preliminary site development plans were recently approved by City Council on May 4, 2021.

Action Needed:
1. Accept the dedication of land for public easements for the Olathe Downtown Library Final Plat (FP21-0010).
2. Reject the dedication of land for public easements for the Olathe Downtown Library Final Plat (FP21-0010) and return the plat to the Planning Commission for further consideration with a statement specifying the basis for the Governing Body’s failure to accept the dedication.
