Summary:
This Street Preservation project will provide a 2” depth asphalt mill and overlay on 119th Street from Ridgeview Road to Renner Boulevard and from Strang Line Road to Black Bob Road. This project will also include spot replacement of concrete curb and sidewalk, installation of ADA sidewalk ramps, installation of an 8’ wide concrete shared use path on the south side, replacement of pavement markings, and traffic signal detection improvements.
A deteriorated corrugated metal stormwater pipe was uncovered during ongoing construction operations on 119th Street between Ridgeview Road and Renner Road. This change order will allow for immediate replacement of the pipe, backfill and restoration of the roadway.
Change Order No. 2 adds $98,815.00 to the construction contract total. The current contract amount of $1,758,677.78 will be increased by this change order to $1,857,492.78. This increase is within the authorized budget for the 2021 Street Preservation Program.
Construction is ongoing and is tentatively scheduled to be completed in Fall 2021.

Financial Impact:
This project is funded from the City of Olathe’s 2021 Street Preservation Program authorized on January 5, 2021. Authorized revenue for the 2021 Street Preservation Program includes:
G.O. Bonds $ 4,200,000
Street Maintenance Sales Tax $ 11,000,000
Total $ 15,200,000
