In the Spring of 2020, the City of Overland Park, Kansas acted as lead agency on a cooperative bid and two (2) bids were received for the purchase of rock salt. Participating entities in this cooperative effort include the City of Overland Park, City of Lenexa, City of Leawood, City of Mission, City of Shawnee, City of Roeland Park, Johnson County, Blue Valley School District and the City of Olathe.
Overland Park has renewed the contract with Central Salt, LLC. for a contract term of one (1) year, with up to one (1) additional contract term.
Rock salt products are used by the Street Maintenance Section of Infrastructure for winter snow and ice control on the City’s streets.
Staff recommends the acceptance of the renewal with Central Salt.
No Olathe vendors supply rock salt.

$250,000.00 to be paid from the Field Operations operating budget.
