Summary:

The 119th Street Improvement Project is in place to rehabilitate 119th Street, from Clare Road west to the Cedar Creek Wastewater Treatment Plant, which has deteriorated to a condition in need of a Street Preservation project. Improvements will include constructing an 8-foot concrete sidewalk from Clare Road to the Cedar Niles Trailhead as well as a 5-foot sidewalk on the east side of Clare Road from 119th Street to 127th Street.

This agreement is in place to allow the City of Olathe to reimburse Evergy Metro, Inc. for the utility relocation required for this project. Olathe’s cost for the relocation, estimated by Evergy Metro, Inc. is $190,207.61. The estimate reflects relocation of power poles and lines located within existing easements in the project area.

The relocation of Evergy facilities is tentatively scheduled to begin immediately after approval of this agreement.

The project is currently in the utility relocation phase with construction of the street preservation project tentatively scheduled to begin in Spring 2024.
