Summary:
The 2024 Street Preservation Program will include the following projects:
Ridgeview Road (North) Arterial Mill and Overlay Project - 119th Street to K-10 Hwy
Ridgeview Road (South) Arterial Mill and Overlay Project - 165th Street to 159th Street
Sheridan Street Arterial Mill and Overlay Project - Dennis Avenue to Mur-Len Road
Santa Fe Street Arterial Mill and Overlay Project - I-35 Hwy to Mur-Len Road
119th Street Mill and Overlay Project - Clare Road to West End of Road
Local & Collector Street Mill and Overlay Projects (LCMO) -See street list exhibit for LCMO Group A and Group B construction locations. The projects include 81 street locations totaling 28 lane miles.
Micro Surface Project - See street list exhibit and map for MAQS Micro Surface locations. The project includes 150 street locations, totaling 49 lane miles.
Street Maintenance Curb Replacement Project - Removal and replacement of approximately 25,000 linear feet of deteriorated curb and gutter by Street Maintenance Concrete Crews in multiple locations throughout Olathe.
Street Maintenance Crack Sealing Project - Crack sealing materials for approximately 250 lane miles to be applied throughout the city by Street Maintenance Crews.
Design costs for 2025 Arterial Mill and Overlay Projects will utilize 2024 Street Preservation funding. The following projects are currently included, but are not limited to:
K-7 Highway/Parker Street, Loula Street to Harold Street
Lakeshore Drive, Dennis Avenue to 135th Street
143rd Street, Mur-Len Road to Black Bob Road
167th Street, Hedge Lane to I-35 Highway
Clare Road, 114th Street to College Boulevard
Alternate Streets for the LCMO and MAQS Micro Surface Projects are included in the Exhibit B Street Lists document. The alternate streets are not included in the total number of primary streets and lane miles listed above with each project. These alternate streets are authorized for construction but not currently scheduled for construction. Upon completion of the scheduled primary streets, if adequate funding remains to construct some or all alternate streets, these streets may be added for construction by a change order to an existing project or bid as a separate project

Financial Impact:
Funding for the 2024 Street Preservation Program, as approved in the 2024-2028 CIP, includes:
CIP Fund (Cash) $ 2,800,000
Transportation Sales Tax $20,160,000
Total: $22,960,000

Action Needed:
No action is requested at this time. Staff will return to Council for approval of construction contracts for the projects listed above.
