Summary:
On December 19, 2023, five (5) bids were received and opened for the above referenced project. The bids ranged from $1,847,602.20 to $2,459,163.95 with the Engineer’s Estimate at $2,809,826.00. Pyramid Contractors, Inc. submitted the low and responsible bid in the amount of $1,847,602.20. The following is a tabulation of bids received:

This Street Preservation Project will include pavement improvements along 119th Street from Clare Road west to the Cedar Creek Wastewater Treatment Plant, construction of an 8-foot concrete sidewalk from Clare Road to the Cedar Niles Trailhead, and a 5-foot sidewalk on the east side of Clare Road from 119th Street to 127th Street.
Construction is tentatively scheduled to begin in Spring 2024 and tentatively scheduled to be completed in Fall 2024.

Financial Impact:
This project is funded from the City of Olathe’s 2024 Street Preservation Program. Funding for the 2024 Street Preservation Program, as approved in the 2024-2028 Capital Improvement Plan, includes:
CIP Fund (Cash) $ 2,800,000
Transportation Sales Tax $20,160,000
Total: $22,960,000
