Summary:

In 2012, the City advertised a Request for Qualifications (RFQ) for professional services to provide automated pavement condition inspections on the arterial streets in Olathe. Stantec Consulting Services Inc. was selected as the most qualified firm and has inspected the arterial network in 2013, 2018, and 2021.

The $53,500 Professional Services Agreement will allow for inspection of the full length of each street in both directions of travel. The data collected provides the information to calculate pavement condition index (PCI) ratings used to schedule and prioritize arterial projects. The pavement distresses are measured by a vehicle traveling at the posted speed limit, so there are no interruptions to traffic or safety concerns. Stantec Consulting Services Inc. continuing to provide these services ensures consistency in the procedures used and quality of the data.

The inspections are tentatively scheduled to be completed in Summer 2024. The data is tentatively scheduled to be delivered and imported to our asset management system in Fall 2024.
